TWO SKINCARE PRODUCTS I CAN'T STOP USING

Firstly, here is a little run down on my skin, to help you understand the bigger picture on my skin type: I have oily/combination skin and have suffered badly with breakouts the past few years, and really badly this year. My problem areas are blackheads on my nose and breakouts on my cheeks. I'm currently using the Proactiv+ 3 Step Clear Skin System, along with the Re-Texturising Toner and Mark Fading Pads. As of this week have started using the Deep Cleansing Brush and Green Tea Moisturiser…..I’m loving these two at the moment, although I am having a purge from the Deep Cleansing Brush, but this always happens to me and I’m assured it is a normal part of any journey to clear skin.

Now onto my current two favourites…..

Mark Fading Pads.
Now I'll be the first to admit I didn't think I actually needed these, but oh wow was I wrong! They really help to clear the skin up even more and like the name suggests, they help to fade marks! I use these every day for 5-7 days consecutively but find my skin looks so good after the 4th day.

For me results I get from using the Mark Fading Pads feel like a mini facial peel and my skin looks and feels 10x better when I use them, so if you’re wanting a quick fix to gorgeous skin then definitely check them out  shop here for the mark fading pads

Skin Purifying Mask.
This is something I loved even long before I started using the Proactiv 3-Step-System. I found it to be a mask that actually worked really well for me, and it still does! As the name suggests it’s a purifying mask so helps to clear up skin. I use this as a blemish treatment also and I only tend to use this on my problem areas such as my nose, chin and cheeks, which is where my skin tends to be a little bit of a pain in the butt sometimes hehe

I love using this when I have a long hot bubble bath! I dampen my skin then apply the mask and leave it for as long as possible because I feel the longer I leave it for the better it works for my skin. This mask is definitely something I highly recommend..   Shop here for the skin purifying mask

Have you ever tried anything from Proactiv before? If you have I'd love to know what you have tried and if you loved it just as much as I do..

Until next time xox

MY NEW FAVOURITE JACKET

Hey gang!
So today I am talking to you about an item of clothing that I am OBSESSED with. As you may have noticed I have had a jacket permanently attached to my body the past week and it was such a bargain purchase. Last weekend Jess and I headed to Jersey and of course us being girls we hit the shops and pretty much all the shops had sale going on so we was like brilliant. Headed into New Look which may I just say they are seriously on another level at the moment but anyways..
I found a leather jacket that looked identical to the allsaints jacket that everyone and their mothers seem to have, to look at the price to see that its was £14.99

Speaking of outfits check out the 3 outfits I wore in Jersey which is linked below along with the outfit details that you could ever need,    xoxo

THE BAKER BOY TREND

I don't know about you but when the baker boy hat trend came around I'll have to say I was not feeling it. AT. ALL.   I thought it was a trend I would 100% skip and not even try to get on board with.. oh boy was I wrong.

A few weeks back I stumbled into good old Primark and they had some for a bargain of a price £4. Four quid! Normally they are retailed for around £9-£25 depending on where you get one from but I thought why not try it because it's the cheapest on the high street as of right now.

I am actually now obsessed with the baker boy hat trend, that when it came to being in Jersey this past weekend I was always wearing it and have a fair few times this week too.
I find it goes with so much and just gives your outfit that extra bit of sass it needs.. yeah like my outfits are ever sass Tash, come on haha

Sadly there is no direct link to the Primark one, but I have my eye on two from Topshop currently and one of them is red. If that doesn't scream a festive trend piece to you then honestly what does!

FOODS THAT ARE GOOD FOR CLEAR SKIN

It's hard to really know what food is actually good for you, particularly for keeping your skin clear alongside a good skincare routine. One thing about me is that I'm a picky eater and don't like the texture of some foods and makes food a little difficult for me - but today I am sharing with you a few foods I love, which your body and skin will definitely thank you for eating.

Let's start off with drinks, first of all, water. THIS IS ESSENTIAL for every day because it's just so good for you. Hydration is essential now we are in winter, not only does this keep dryness at bay but drinking water regularly also keeps blemishes clear

Peppermint Tea: This is so good at keeping your skin clear and also so good for your digestive system. I love this in replacement for my morning tea. Just make sure its caffeine free

Red Grapes: They are packed with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. They also help protect your skin from harmful UV rays.

Pineapple: (my fave!!) it helps to promote good skin health, it's high in vitamin C, helps and aids digestion - helping tissue repair and calming skin inside out.

Tomatoes: Rich in vitamin A, C & K. They also have a secret beauty ingredient called lycopene which helps protect skin from environmental agents that can contribute to clogged pores and breakouts

Avacado: Full of vitamin E, C and is also full of healthy fats! Also helps to keep skin looking young and supple... give me a lifetime supply, please

Also, other good foods which are amazing for you are Eggs, Broccoli and Salmon

One food recipe that I love is a Thai green curry! I love to jam pack it full of veg like broccoli, peppers, green beans and baby corn.

When I make it I don't tend to stick to the traditional recipe that you find online but when first making this my go-to was the BBC Food's recipe. The only thing I don't use is fish paste and salt all though I replace it with garlic which is such a good ingredient for you.

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil  - I change for coconut oil
  • 1-2 tbsp ready-made green curry paste
  • Pre-diced chicken 200g
  • 100ml tin coconut milk
  • Garlic
  • Handful green beans, trimmed
  • Handful peppers
  • Broccoli
  • Baby corn
  • Black pepper for seasoning
  • And of course rice. I tend to use brown rice or normal depending how I feel

So there you have it - food that is good for your skin! If you're interested in finding out more foods that are beneficial for the skin then Proactiv+ have a really good page that explains more on the foods and what they are good fo - click here to have a little read.

Alongside skin-friendly foods I’ve also been using Proactiv+ products to keep my skin clear - you can check out my favorites the Skin Smoothing Exfoliator and Skin Purifying Mask on the Proactiv+ website

CHRISTMAS GIFTS THAT YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH..

With Christmas fast approaching we are all thinking of what we would like to receive or give to someone. Fragrance is something I love giving and receiving because let's face it who doesn't love a good fragrence!

I think when it comes to a fragrance we are a creature of habit we all have that signature scent that we stick to so for christmas, I love getting a fragrance for my boyfriend that is similar to his signature scent so its something new and makes getting a fragrance that extra bit more special.
Fragrance Direct has a great selection of fragrance for him and her and perfect gift sets for Christmas which is you fancy a sneak peek click here...

Here are the two fragrance I have chosen for myself and Tom for the festive season/perfect gift for Christmas

On my Christmas wishlist this year I had put Chloe signature eau de parfum because I have never tried a Chloe perfume. I stick to what I know and love which is YSL Black Opium which is my HG. and thought trying something I have wanted to try for a long time was a great way to start my wishlist.

Now for Tom, he pretty much likes anything that has a manly and a very muscular sent so what better than Hugo Boss.  For me, Hugo Boss  The Scent is such a manly scent and is something I think is perfect for Tom (and don't mind smelling it on him all day long)

What fragrence would you love to recive on christmas/or have on your christmas wish list? I'd love to know.
Don't forget to check Fragrance Directs Christmas scent gift guide to help you pick a perfect fragrance for your significant other or for a treat to yourself and remember fragrance direct you save money off the retail price too.

PROACTIV 3 STEP SKINCARE | UPDATE 2

So we are now 2 months in to using proactiv+'s 3 Step Skin care and I honestly don't know what I'd do without it. I still get the odd blemish but my skin has improved so much!

Last month we had our second meeting with Proactiv at London's Duck & Dry for a pamper afternoon and honestly the timing couldn't have been better. I had my first ever blow dry which I defiantly need to have more of and our nails done too. While we all got to have a relaxed afternoon we all had a one on one with Laura again to discus our skin.

She told me my skin has improved and I still have a few blemishes that are still to come to the surfaced which she was correct I did in fact have a little breakout party on my face a few days later but one thing I have notice is that the breakouts fade and disappear so much more quicker now than ever.
I have introduced a few new things to my routine which are the Mark Fading Pads and I have toned down on the Re-Texturising Toner which I now use twice a week instead of everyday. I do use an oil on my skin once a week because I really did dry my skin out with using the toner too much but now my skin is back to being balanced which is good.

Other than that 2 months in and my skin is so much better than ever. I am happy with the amount of new breakouts I get as opposed to what I used to get and my make up just sits so much nicer too. The breakouts around my jaw line haven't come back since starting Proactiv+ which I'm actually pleased with because they used to be so painful and made me feel very insecure with myself.
My cheeks have calmed down too, but due to a few personal things in my life I have gotten a bit stressed out so they have come back but as said before they haven't come back half as bad as they was before so I am very pleased!

I honestly can't wait to see what it will be like in a months time as every month it's just better and better!

LIFE UPDATE | GOING ON A DIGITAL DETOX

Hey!
I honestly have been sat here for about 3 hours just trying to think of intro for this blog post but I think it just going to be a post that has no structure to it. Just words..

Over a year ago now I opened up about mental health and how I struggled with depression and honestly the start of this year everything fell in to place and I felt like me again. I woke up with so much motivation, being happy and honestly it felt so amazing. Of course I would still have a down day but it was not as much as I did in 2016. Had so many things to look forwards to including my first ever girls holiday which involved going on a plane and celebrating my friends hen do.
On the holiday I was a little anxious anyways but it was because of my grandad who has had a few little issues at the start of the year (actually for 2 years but this time was worse) so 2 days in to my holiday I called home to check how he was, how the doctors went  to then find out he was sick - he had cancer..

Honestly I have never felt so sick, sad, angry all these emotions in one. How can someone who is the best thing to me have this. All I wanted to do was go home but my grandad wanted me to enjoy my holiday and told me to stay so I did.  Fast forward to about a month ago, he started getting worse and then 3 weeks ago was taken to hospital. His blood pressure was low, hardly eating and then found out he had pneumonia. He hasn't been eating, walking, always in and out of sleeping and it's hard to see someone you love like that. I have tried my hardest to put on a brave face to see him because thats what he needs but this weekend all I have done is cry as they have said his heart isn't working properly and ask a question no one wants to hear and it's broken me..

I have acted like he's fine and nothing is wrong with him and every emotion I have hid just came crashing down on me and I just couldn't face the day today. I am currently in bed still in my pjs, hair on top of my head, tears in my eyes and a cold half cup of tea by my side. Typing away as this is the only thing that helps when I feel low. It's my way of coping when Im down.

I have been think for the last few weeks about doing a digital detox and honestly if I hadn't of had the 3 signs today telling me to do it I probably wouldn't but for me personally I think its what I need.
So for a week (if it changes ill update on my twitter - here) I won't be posting/looking on any form of social media.

No uploads to youtube, instagram, tweets or Facebook. Just quality me time.
For my mental state and I need to spend time with my family and enjoy my grandad being here. I just need time away. I still have a few brand posts to put up this week so they will be going up but for right now, my laptop will be put away and phone left to one side and honestly I have never look forward to anything more..

So heres to a digital detox. I will see you in a week.. I hope xox

MY CURRENT GO TO OUTFIT... RN

And we are back with an outfit post.. finally! It's felt like forever.
This is currently my go to outfit RN.  I am obsessed with over sized knit jumpers right now, they just scream autumn and go perfect with denim.  Of course there is one thing that hasn't left my side since I got it which is the love of my wardrobe.. my Gucci. Isn't she pretty.

I have a few things in the pipe line regarding my blog over the next few months so be sure to stick around the blog. I can't wait to get back in to it.

Here's to clearer skin with Proactiv+... Before & one week in & the breakfast event

Since the age of 14 I would say that I have always had to deal with breakouts. It all started with lots of little bumps on my forehead and I remember how much I hated them. When I had my school photos taken as bad as they were I remember having to deal with the awkward picture taking and that was on top of how the blemishes would be there in the photos forever, even worse how made me feel ugly. At such a young age thats how I described my skin... ugly
A year later the breakouts started going away by themselves but I started getting blackheads that was only my nose and my skin turned to a very oily skin type. I felt so happy finally having clearish skin and only having to deal with and oily t zone. But that wasn't for very long.
Fast forward to the beginning of last year my skin turned for the worse,  my skin was constantly breaking out and I started having painful breakouts that developed under the skin or in clusters all on my cheeks.  The blackheads moved to my cheeks (parts near my nose), chin and forehead. It honestly felt like every morning I would wake up to a new friend on my face and no matter what I did nothing seemed to help as much as I would like..

Then a few months ago I was contacted by Proactiv+ to work with them on achieving clear skin with their 3 step system and of course I jumped at the chance for two reasons,
1. my skin duh
2. Ever seen the tv ads and thought yeah sure thats how it got so clear? That was the other reason.
So I wanted to see if it actually worked!! So over the next few months I will be documenting my skin journey and really putting Proactiv+ to the test.

Here is pictures of my skin a few weeks before trying proactiv+ and this was at its worst

For our first meeting which was last week now at the Bronte in London which I so wish I got snap happy with when I was there because it was so dreamy! I met up with the PR company who I'm working with as well as Laura who is a dermatologist from Proactiv+ and a few other lovely bloggers to talk about the 3 step system, our skin and what really makes a blemish a blemish and a blackhead a blackhead.. FUN FACT. Did you know it takes 4-6 weeks for a blemish to actually appear on your skin?! I didn't. Honestly my mind was blown
In our meeting we all got to have a 1 to 1 session with Laura the dermatologist who examined our skin and told us more about breakouts, how to use the skin care properly which I thought was really helpful. I have never seen a dermatologist so it was a really good experience - highly highly recommend

Skin the day of meeting and the first day starting the 3 step system

So to start off we all have been given the 3 step system to use as our main skincare with a few additional extras which I will talk about towards the end of the month when I have used them more but so far loving them. I have also been advised to stay away from my oils and cleansing oil to remove my makeup which did kill me a bit inside because I am all about my oils for my night skincare as its the only thing that makes my skin feel hydrated but the Proactiv+ moisturiser is really making the not using the oils ok.

I'm a week in and my skin is looking ok I do have a few new friends on my face and of course it will get worse before it gets better but I can't wait to see what my skin will look like in a few months..

so here is to clearer and better skin days
